Catherine E. Lawless “Kay”, 75, of Stuart, Florida, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at her home. Born in South Boston, Massachusetts, she had been a resident of Stuart since 1989, coming from Halifax, Massachusetts. The Matriarch of her family, she enjoyed cooking for family members and friends, always helping those around her, and letting everyone know that her family was her greatest asset and her most prized enjoyment. She is survived by her son Paul M. Lopez, and his companion, Craig M. Palmer, of Stuart; her daughter, Nancy E. Lawless, and her husband, Paul A. Meola, of Palm City, Florida; her brother, George F. O’Hare, and his wife, Susan, of Squantum, Massachusetts; her two grandchildren, Samantha C. Lawless, and Nicholas J. Meola; her nephew, Brian E. O’Hare, and his wife, Cheryl; and her grandniece and grandnephew, Alissa and Ethan O’Hare, all of Marshfield, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Robert W. Lawless, who died in 2004, and her nephew, Frederick G. O’Hare, who died in 2012. Services will be private at the convenience of the family from the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory of Stuart. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts next to her late husband, Robert. Brian Lee Chavis Sr. of Vero Beach, Florida passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday, April 21st at the age of 57. His devoted wife, Laurie Holland-Chavis and his loving parents, Barbara and Fred Chavis were by his side. As a past President of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4347 Vero Beach, FL, he enjoyed cooking meals for members and also for charity events. Brian loved to fish, sharing his passion with his son, Brian Jr. He is also survived by his daughters, Heather, Cheryl (Randy), and Michelle (Tom); brother David (Laura); sisters Karen (Jimmy), Sandy (Manuel) and Kimmy; grandchildren Joseph, Dominick, Jacob, Lanaya, Jared, Hailey, Maddie and Jordan; many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles and countless friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 1st, 2015 from 5-7pm at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds.

Kevin Michael Kenney, 70, of Palm City, Florida, died Saturday, April 15, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, he had been a resident of Palm City since 1974, coming from Washington, DC. Kevin was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Certified Public Accountant, and prior to his retirement he owned and operated Kenney and Associates, an accounting firm in Stuart. Survivors include his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Pat Kenney of Palm City; one son, Michael Kenney and his wife, Jennifer, of Casselberry, Florida; two daughters, Beth Davis, of Palm City, and Blaine Parker and her husband, David, of Arlington, Tennessee; one brother, John Kenney and his wife, Elaine, of Scarborough, Maine; one sister, Karen McGrath and her husband, Brian, of Fryeburg, Maine; and two grandchildren, Taylor Davis, and Kiera Parker. A Celebration of Life for Kevin will be announced in the next day or two. Mildred Roman, 94, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Sunday, April 26 at Brennity Assisted Living Facility Vero Beach. Mildred was born in Tampa, Florida the daughter of the late John Lee McBride and Edna Moore. She had been a resident of Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from Coral Gables Fl. Mildred was a Homemaker and an avid and talented painter in the medium of water colors. She was a past president the Coconut Grove Women’s Club, a member of the P.E.O. Club which is a proud sponsor of the Cottey College. Mildred owned and operated her own boutique specializing in clothing of which Mildred made all her own clothing as a seamstress. Mildred also donated her handmade clothing to those fighting cancer as well. She will be sadly missed and remembered for her loving compassionate ways. In addition to her parents, Mildred is predeceased by her loving husband William Roman Sr. and her son William Roman Jr. in 1969. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia and Marc Dingfelder of Warsaw, MO; two granddaughters, Haley Ann Dingfelder of Warsaw MO and Samantha and her husband, Randy Keeran of Edgerton, MO; one cousin, Lee McBride of Wall, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, April 29, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Miami. Lester J. Gano, 99 of Vero Beach, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Indian River Medical Center. Born on April 29, 1915 in Bridgeport, CT., Lester moved to Milford, NJ where he met his wife, who he was married to for 75 years. He retired in Leesburg, FL in 1988 and moved to Vero Beach, FL in 2011. He was a WWII Veteran. Lester is survived by his wife Ruth; son, Robert Gano and his wife Jeanne; daughter, Linda Gass and her husband Art; sister, Nellie Breiner; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Ort and his wife Emmy, Dennis Ort and his wife Maricia, Chris Ort, Shannon Ort and Jennifer Allen and her husband Jim; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 2:30 – 3:30 with a memorial service to begin at 3:30 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Nathan was a native of Middletown, Ohio and has lived in Vero Beach for 2 and ½ years moving from Evansville, Indiana. Nathan was a manager of Sonic in Vero Beach. Francis Oscar Caron, 85 of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. Francis was born February 19, 1930 in Merrimack, NH son of the late Gertrude and Henry Caron. He enlisted in the US Navy right after high school at the age of 17, and was part of the Berlin lift, he served in the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. During his career in the Navy, he made Chief; he was commissioned and retired as a LT, after 23 years of service. After retiring from the service he was President of B & C Development Company, building houses in Merrimack, NH. His memberships included VFW, American Legion, Fleet Reserve, Chartered Member of Retired Officers Association, and the NRA. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Durean E. Caron; sons, Robert M. Caron, David P. Caron, Timothy W. Caron, Mark A. Caron, and favorite daughter, Brenda D. Perrault; grandchildren, Leslie Phieffer, Jessie Caron, Michael Paul Perrault, Bobbie Jen Willingham, Brian Caron, Abi Harbin, Sherry Gay, Heather Caron, Steven Perrault, Lindsey Modert, Ashley Scent, Amber, Dana Caron, Carli Caron, Tabitha McNair and Twenty Five Great Grandchildren! Elaine Schmidt, “E”, of Monterey Yacht and Country Club of Stuart, Florida, went from earth to eternity on April 30th, 2015. Elaine was the sister of Christina (the late Owen) McCauley. She was the proud aunt of Mark (Dottie) Grunwald and Mary Jo (the late Martin) Kurily; loving great-aunt to Erica Grunwald, TJ Grunwald , Faith (Brian) Chu, Katy (Dan) Briggs, and Daniel Kurily; special great-great aunt to Haley, Annabeth, and Mia Briggs. Her career included being Chief of Training at the Internal Revenue Service in Detroit, Michigan. Elaine was a volunteer at the Elliott Museum in Stuart and an enthusiastic teacher of religious education at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Stuart. Elaine loved all people, and especially her Detroit Red Wings. She had a heart of gold and nobody was ever a stranger. Her warmth and love for others exuded in her generous and loving spirit. She was an encourager and believed the best in others. Elaine will be missed by family and friends. Her legacy of enjoying life to the fullest can be summarized in her favorite saying, “Live, Laugh, Love.” A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Edward S. Lenehan, 89, of Stuart, Florida, died May 10, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born in New York, New York. He raised his family in Bellmore, New York, and later was a resident of Stuart, Florida for thirty-three years. Edward served our country as a Marine in World War II in Iwo Jima. He graduated from Iona College and went on to have a career in law enforcement, first with the NYC Police Department, and then as a Special Agent with the FBI. He later worked as a Vice President of Security for Brinks Inc. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Marjorie (Ward). Ed is survived by his five children, Gary Lenehan, Terri Hollinsworth, Joyce Kelly, Edward Lenehan, and Marjorie Keane, and their spouses; two sisters, Agnes Smith and Mary Farrell; as well as sixteen loving grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his red Lexus car, which he enjoyed and cared for as much as he did his family. In his later years he got great enjoyment playing golf, getting car washes, and spending time with his family.
